Grow Pittsburgh - Garden Resource Center

Provides a tool lending library and bulk garden materials depot. Seeks to reduce barriers to growing food by making it easier for gardeners in the region to access the tools and supplies they need to grow successful home and community gardens. For a sliding scale annual membership fee, the GRC allows patrons to access free garden tool rentals and bulk materials such as organic compost, mulch, and soil amendments.

Penn State Cooperative Extension - South Central - Cooperative Learning and Master Gardeners

The York county Master Gardeners provide horticulture information and education to home gardeners based on proven research specific to the local climate, soils and plants. Master gardeners answer gardening questions and diagnosis insect and plant problems via the garden hotline, Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Teach community and urban gardening to youth and adults. Maintain the gardens at john Rudy Park where gardeners can learn about annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs for York county. Offer the annual "garden wise" educational conference - a one-day event with workshops and speakers. Speakers bureau provides speakers on garden topics for community groups. Teach composting. Pennypack Farm & Education Center - Community Supported Agriculture

Provides organically grown vegetables to families who purchase a season-long foodshare, usually paying in full before May. Households come to the farm weekly for 24 weeks to pick up their share. Some items are U-pick, and most items have been harvested and bunched in to units. Families are expected to contribute at least 4 hours of volunteer labor at some activity to support the farm's operation.
