As a PHFA-certified housing counseling agency, Schuylkill Community Action (SCA) assists homeowners who have received an Act 91 Notice (Notice of Intent to Foreclose) by providing counseling, determining eligibility, and helping complete the HEMAP application process.
HEMAP assistance may help bring mortgage accounts current and may provide temporary assistance with ongoing payments while the homeowner works to regain financial stability. Assistance is provided in the form of a loan and must be repaid according to PHFA guidelines.
