Lycoming-Clinton Counties Commission for Community Action (STEP), Inc. - Employment Transportation Assistance

Provides transitional transportation assistance and minimizes barriers that prevent persons from being hired and becoming dependable employees. Provides transportation through bus passes, Shared-Ride Transportation, Taxi, mileage reimbursement, child care transportation. Participants may receive benefits for a maximum of one year, with a lifetime amount of benefits. Provides case management form STEP staff, who coordinate progress and target a selection of needed services.

North Hills Community Outreach - Transportation Assistance Program

Helps individuals stabilize transportation to support employment, job search, or education and vocational training. Depending on available funds, assistance may include financial help for car repairs, gas cards, insurance payments, loan payments, PennDOT Services, AAA memberships, car seats, and Pittsburgh Regional Transit CONNECT cards.

Downtown Pittsburgh Ministerium - Walk-In Ministry

Provides short-term emergency food (local pantries should be called first), personal care/grooming supplies, and single-use Port Authority bus tickets (for verified job interviews or medical appointments, or occasional other emergency situations). Four downtown churches alternate weekly as the church "on duty" for serving persons in need. Please see details in the Intake Procedure and Helpful Hints sections below.

Lehigh Conference of Churches - Pathways Housing Services

* Coordinated Entry Access Site, connects individuals to programs within the Conference or refers out to community resources. Also helps qualifying low-income individuals and families with rental assistance, goal setting and budgeting. Provides bus passes for interviews or for first week of employment. Toiletries/personal grooming items provided as available. * Various rental assistance programs * Homeless Supportive Services: Provides intensive case management and referrals to other support services for single, adult, chronically homeless individuals. Assist street homeless men and women to connect to community resources as they strive to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. * Social Security Representative Payee Program: Provides financial monitoring and fund administration to individuals receiving social security who are unable to manage their own finances.

Assists Warren County, PA families who have a child diagnosed with a serious illness with reimbursement for medical related expenses regardless of family income. Reimburses for travel expenses as well as the cost of medical appointments. Sends the family a care package since most families are unprepared with toiletries, clothing, and things to entertain their child/children.

Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Council of Pittsburgh - Tangible Aid

Helps individuals and families with one-time needs and tangible assistance. Assistance may include help with rent, utilities, prescriptions, and other needs. Help and amounts vary by conference. Also provides vouchers for clothing, household items, and furniture for use at Saint Vincent de Paul thrift stores. Sponsors a food pantry in Butler that serves over 500 families every month. Food bank members can expect to receive vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy products, and non-perishable items. In addition, more than 20 Society Conferences host food pantries and many others provide some form of food assistance.
