Downtown Pittsburgh Ministerium - Walk-In Ministry

Provides short-term emergency food (local pantries should be called first), personal care/grooming supplies, and single-use Port Authority bus tickets (for verified job interviews or medical appointments, or occasional other emergency situations). Four downtown churches alternate weekly as the church "on duty" for serving persons in need. Please see details in the Intake Procedure and Helpful Hints sections below.

Provides reentry supportive services for families impacted by the criminal justice system. Community Action Agency of Delaware County - Transportation Assistance

Provides bus tokens and/or passes on a limited basis to transport shelter and transitional/rapid re-housing program participants as well as individuals experiencing homelessness and families to necessary appointments such as medical visits, job interviews, etc.

Assists with the following bills: medical (physician verified), prescriptions (must receive fax from doctor's office verifying prescription), electric (no CAP recipients), gas (no CAP recipients), water, local phone bill payment/connection (up to $20), and bus passes/gas vouchers (employment or medical purposes).

Serves and responds to the needs of veterans experiencing homelessness. Offers services that include shelter, hot meals, shower facilities, laundry services, transportation, medical equipment, furniture and household items, hygiene products, and more.

Lycoming-Clinton Counties Commission for Community Action (STEP), Inc. - Employment Transportation Assistance

Provides transitional transportation assistance and minimizes barriers that prevent persons from being hired and becoming dependable employees. Provides transportation through bus passes, Shared-Ride Transportation, Taxi, mileage reimbursement, child care transportation. Participants may receive benefits for a maximum of one year, with a lifetime amount of benefits. Provides case management form STEP staff, who coordinate progress and target a selection of needed services.

Assists Warren County, PA families who have a child diagnosed with a serious illness with reimbursement for medical related expenses regardless of family income. Reimburses for travel expenses as well as the cost of medical appointments.
