Assists low-income households access utility assistance through the application process for LIHEAP, Crisis, CAP programs, Dollar Energy, and weatherization services. Partners include Dollar Energy and Columbia Gas. Please Note: the agency does NOT provide direct payment for utility services, but assists with applications for utility programs.

Offer assistance to clients who are experiencing difficulty finding or maintaining housing. Provides a range of services and options to assist clients in securing and maintaining safe, affordable housing. Housing services include counseling, subsidized housing for homeless individuals with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, and assistance applying for housing related benefits and entitlements.

Offers personalized monthly payment amounts based on gross income, household size, and energy usage at the property. CAP Program does not help with shut off notices. CAP Program arranges a reduced payment plan for UGI-Penn Natural Gas customers who are eligible and have an active UGI-PNG account. Customers must have a verifiable source of income on which the CAP payment is based. Part of the customer agreement with UGI-PNG is that the customer apply for LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program). SLHDA, Inc. is able to assist UGI-PNG customers with the completion of their LIHEAP application and forward the application to the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare for processing.

Provides assistance in the form of a clothing bank, food banks, and limited financial assistance with utility bills. Assistance may be coordinated with surrounding agencies.

Case Manager assists UGI customers with signing them up for the UGI Customer Assistance Programs. * CAP (UGI): Provides lower monthly payments and forgiveness of back balances for individuals at/below 150% of FPIG. * Operation Share (UGI): Provides a one-time grant for families that fall at/below 250% of FPIG and are typically over income for the CAP program

In addition, coordinates PPL's and UGI Penn Natural Gas Customer Assistance Programs. PPL Programs include: OnTrack Payment Program, Operation Help (OpHelp), and Security Deposit Waiver Program. UGI programs include: Customer Assistance Program (CAP), and Operation Share (OpShare).

Partners with PPL Electric Utilities, UGI Utilities, Aqua Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania American Water to helps community residents become more energy efficient, save money on utility bills and access customer assistance programs.
