Uses tennis as an instructional tool to teach the importance of healthy habits, the benefits of physical fitness, and good nutrition; and to teach life lessons in the relevance of citizenship, through character development. It also places an emphasis on good sportsmanship in an activity that requires participants to act as their own referees.

Early education programs

Provides a licensed childcare center offering preschool, before and after school programs, hot and cold breakfast, lunch and snacks, after school homework help, emergency care for snow days and early dismissals, and other days off from school.

Enable youth to improve their functioning in the home, school and community by providing structured treatment services during the afternoon and evening hours. Provides therapeutic activities such as: social skills activities, sharing and listening activities, partner time activities, therapeutic recreation, homework time, community field trips and family outreach.

Family centers provide families with a network of services accessible through local schools. Services available include healthcare services/clinics, family literacy programs, PAT (an in-home parenting program for 0-5 years old) summer recreational and enrichment programs, information and referral to other community resources. Parent/Community members should contact their school for information. Community School provide support and resources to families and community members at Broughal Middle School, Donegan Elementary, Fountain Hill Elementary, Lincoln Elementary and William Penn Elementary.

Care is provided for school aged children. Care is provided before and after school.

Children also have time to tackle homework with the help of well-trained Y staff who know how to challenge and listen to them. If a child is enrolled in the School-Age Enrichment program, per request, they can be matched with a pre-qualified Big Brother or Big Sister. A healthy breakfast and snack is included in your daily rate as well as transportation to and from school.

A school-based, 12-week prevention program for youth who exhibit leadership potential. Students work as a team after school to plan and implement a service-learning project of their choice that benefits their school and community. LFG participants eligible to attend Kids Kamp overnight camp in June.

Offers after school programming for up to 100 Patterson Elementary School students. Guest speakers visit the after school program to make educational presentations, particularly those focused on health and safety. Services are offered to latchkey, extended day students, and their siblings. All activities are available on weekdays only. Activities include homework help, recreation period of games, leadership skills development, girls and boys clubs, and anger management group training.

Provides a small group Montessori experience to children with a 1 adult to 5 child ratio. Offers the option of choosing a 2, 3, or 5 day program.

Offers a program with the options of 5 days a week, half-day, and full-day. For children age 5, an Extended Day Kindergarten program is offered.

Manages the subsidized child care program for low-income, working residents of Chester County. Day care hours of service must coincide with the parent/caretaker's work or education schedule.
