Early education programs

Provides a substitute family life experience for a child who needs care for a temporary or extended period. Works toward the primary goal of reuniting families or ensuring that the child will leave foster care for a permanent placement.

A cooperative program between the School District of Lancaster and the Lancaster Rec to provide quality, state-licensed school age child care. Care is provided before school, after school and on school holidays and in-service days. Before and after school programs include snacks, recreation, homework assistance, special events and free time. Breakfast is available through the school for a fee based on income. Offers a safe, fun and educational setting for children before and after school. Provides a healthy snack, homework assistance, engaging activities and indoor or outdoor play every day.

Before/After school care is available at the YMCA for children attending elementary school and will transport children to local schools. Care is available before and after school and on days when school is closed. Provides free access to healthy snacks and meals.

A school-based, 12-week skill-building program for youth who exhibit leadership potential. Students work as a team after school to plan and implement a service-learning project of their choice that benefits their school and community. LFG participants are eligible to attend Kids Kamp overnight camp in June.
