Foundation of Hope - Hope Pre-Release Program

Provides a rehabilitative program in collaboration with community service providers to empower incarcerated individuals to transform their thinking and behaviors while preparing for their future. Participants live in communal, faith-based housing units in Allegheny County Jail and meet for over 120 hours of class and group work.

Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health and Developmental Services - Mental Health Forensic Services for Adults

Specialized treatment court that identifies and intercepts non-violent adult offenders with mental illness or a co-occurring disorder. FACT provides comprehensive evidence-based treatment to high risk individuals with a criminal background, severe mental illness as well as Drug and Alcohol issues. Prison re-entry programrovides life skills counseling to inmates with mental illness and prepares them for re-entry to the community. IMED (Intercept Model for Early Intervention) provides services to those 18 years and older with Medicaid who have come to the attention of the Criminal Justice System via police and/or magisterial involvement.

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough - Treatment Accountability (TASC)

Screens clients to determine treatment/non-treatment needs. Provide supportive counseling and assistance with referrals. Provide re-entry services for the substance abusing/dependent client who is transitioning from incarceration or fulfilling criminal justice mandates. Monitor drug/alcohol use by performing breathalyzer tests and urine drug screens and report the results to the assigned probation officer or designee of the Court. Provide case management services to clients who have been in the criminal justice system. Case management provides linkage to treatment facilities if identified; recovery support services including; tangible needs (food, clothing); community resources (self-help groups); various housing needs; education; employment and training; and medical care.

Prison provides minimum to maximum security levels. Average length of stay is approximately 70 days. Those committed and sentenced can be held for periods up to 2 years less one day. The prison offers a wide range of opportunities designed to assist those incarcerated in changing their lifestyle to include educational classes and reentry services to assist them in becoming productive members of their communities. Provides pastoral care to inmates, their families, and jail staff through the chaplain, including approximately 1,000 individual pastoral sessions each year. Offers oversight of daily volunteer-led Bible studies and coordinates weekly worship services for all faiths. Supports inmates and their families through a Christmas gift program for children, a Christmas party for inmates with cookies from local churches, and individual correspondence Bible studies. Conducts mission interpretation visits to local churches and creates opportunities for inmates who want to change and are open to connecting with a congregation. Offers training and guidance to individuals who wish to visit the jail as a Christian witness.
