Enables landlords and tenants to arrive at an agreement that works for both parties, without having to go to court. Program is required as of January 1, 2022 by City Ordinance #210920. Benefits of diversion and mediation include helping tenants avoid an eviction while also helping landlords avoid vacancies and unit turnover costs. Program is free for both landlords and tenants.
Provides supportive services to very low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing. Also provides eligible Veterans and their families with outreach, case management, and assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits.

Local attorneys volunteer to provide free legal representation for civil cases. A broad spectrum of civil cases are handled, including the following: landlord-tenant, debtor-creditor problems, unemployment compensation, termination of social security or SSI benefits, uninsured tort defense, family law and other serious civil matters. Simple wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives are provided for financially eligible adults age 60 and over. Assistance in clearing criminal records through the state pardon process is also provided.
