Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network - Project SEARCH

Project SEARCH is a nine-month school-to-work program for high school students with special needs. Students spend their last year in school working in various internships throughout the Good Shepherd Network where they receive education and training to enable them to find full time employment after graduation.

The program allows for participation tailored to the students' needs by utilizing technology, simulations, hands-on practice and visual aids to develop pre-vocational, educational and daily living skills. This program offers individual and group community-based career exploration, vocational, recreational and social activities for individuals participating in a community integrated setting that reflects individual goals.

Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit - Work Foundations+

A secondary special education program focused on providing comprehensive academic instruction and real-life career exploration, experiences, and training to students with disabilities to best prepare them for successful post-secondary training and education, employment, and independent living. Programming includes: Employment Transition Services - instruction to develop transition portfolios which includes a letter of interest, resume, applications, and thank-you letters. Practical Assessment Exploration System Lab (PAES) - a simulated work environment that provides students with a scope and sequence curriculum to expose students to a wide variety of career fields and to further assess skills and interests such as consumer science, computer technology, problem solving, process and production, and communication.
