Carries out administration and operational functions required under numerous health related acts and regulations to maintain and improve the health and well-being of the residents in Lancaster city. Inspects eateries, mobile food trucks, tattoo businesses, and other public facilities to ensure compliance with State health and food safety standards and work with other organizations on initiatives designed to improve the overall health of the community.

License and inspect:- Food establishments- Institutions schools, nursing homes- Camps/Campgrounds- Mobile home parks- Public bathing places- Certified food managers program- Perform surveillance and treatment applications for mosquito control through the West Nile Virus Program- Vector Insect and rodent control program- Childhood lead poisoning prevention program

Responds to individual complaints about rats in residences and outdoors. An Environmental Inspector will inspect the site, provide treatment for the problem, and make recommendations to make residences rodent free.

Protect residents and visitors of Monroe County from vector borne diseases by minimizing the known risk factors of disease transmission. Programs and services include: Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program, Small Rodent Removal Program, Tick Borne Disease Education and Prevention Progam and West Nile Virus Program.

Provides direct instruction and support in the following areas: personal management, household management, money management, grocery shopping and meal planning, laundry and personal shopping, and other areas the consumer, case manager and community support aide identify. Also provides lice eradication and bed bug eradication services.
