Wills Eye Hospital - Cataract and Primary Eye Care

The Cataract and Primary Eye Care (CPEC) Service is the hub of Wills Eye. Wills Eye physicians perform routine eye exams and refer any serious complications to one of the subspecialty services. Services available include: - Cataract Surgery - Cataract Screenings - Comprehensive eye examinations - Vision screenings - Refractive surgery - Contact lens examinations - Consultations with subspecialists in ophthalmology (such as neuro-ophthalmology) - Referrals to specialists in other medical disciplines (such as endocrinologists for persons with diabetes)

VisAbility - Community Services

Offers assessments by licensed optometrists, prescriptions for optical aids, and the opportunity to try out aids ranging from magnifiers, writing guides, special lighting devices, and closed-circuit TVs. Prevention of blindness programs including free vision screenings for children 12 months to 6 years of age. Transportation: This free door-to-door service provides rides to essential medical appointment or critical service need, such as obtaining a photo ID or grocery shopping. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and meet the program criteria. Appointments requested to be made in advance.
