Lions Eye Bank provides corneal tissue to the Cornea Service at Wills Eye. Eye and tissue donations are obtained from next of kin within 24 hours of death and distributed to hospitals and ophthalmologists for transplants and research.

Manages the nation's organ transplant system under contract with the federal government. Manages the national transplant waiting list, matches donors to recipients, maintains the database of transplants in the U.S., develops policies and educates transplant professionals and the general public about transplants.

Matches donated tissue specimens with the needs of scientific researchers and medical educators. Provides donor transport and cremation on site. Offers families the option of receiving donor's ashes within 6 weeks of request and a follow-up letter with information on the impact of the donation.
