Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight - PA MEDI- is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help all Pennsylvanians with Medicare. PA MEDI counselors are specially trained staff and volunteers who can answer your questions and provide you with objective, easy to understand information about Medicare.

A federally funded program designed to answer questions older adults have about Medicare, Medigap, Medicaid, long-term care insurance and preventive care. Apprise is free, confidential, and staffed by trained volunteers who can provide older adults with clear and objective advice about available insurance options, help with medical insurance paperwork and answer questions about the appeals process. Counselors are located at various sites throughout Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

Counselors explain benefits, assist in evaluating different insurance plans (including Medicare Advantage Plans, Part D plans, and more), assist in Medicare enrollment and application for financial assistance for Part B and D plans, assist with the lottery funded PACE applications and questions, and assist with the Medicare appeal process.

Services may include Care Management, Assessment, Protective Services, Information and Assistance, PA MEDI (Insurance Counseling), Health and Wellness Programs, adult day services, in home meals, personal emergency response system, personal care, transportation, and caregiver support. The agency also has 5 Senior Centers throughout the County in which participants can enjoy a Congregate Meal and Programming.
