SeniorLine staff members are trained care managers who can answer questions about available services, help people to begin the process of receiving services from the Area Agency on Aging or partners in the community serving older adults.

Complete assessments to determine what level of care (i.e. nursing home, personal care home or community services) is appropriate for individuals on Medical Assistance to pay for a nursing home stay. Long-term care assessments are also completed for those applying for a personal care home Social Security supplement, and for other DPW programs, such as Waiver Services. Facilities and individuals may also request a level of care determination. Casemanagment help older adults to assess their abilities and needs, explore options, develop plans to best utilize their abilities, and arrange for informal and formal supports (in-home services) to meet their needs. With an older adult looking for placement, they can assist older adults who need to enter a nursing home or personal care facility with determining the type of residential placement that will best meet their needs, and with securing such placement. They can also assist those in nursing facilities with returning home with supportive services.

Operates an information line for long-term care assistance. Provides information and refers callers to local agencies that can offer assistance with planning and arranging for long-term care, needs, and other services.
Provides assistance necessary to keep seniors living independently in their homes and communities. A regular schedule of visits and calls are scheduled to provide the necessary support, while also providing additional services during emergency situations such as severe weather, property damage, or utility issues.

OPTIONS is a program that assesses the Long Term Care (LTC) needs of people and develops a plan of care to meet those needs.
As a result of the assessment process, eligible individuals can remain at home with a range of services that vary from minimal supportive services to intensive in-home services. Provides on going follow-up visits to assure needs are being met.

Options Care Management helps older adults (age 60 or older) in the southeastern region of Allegheny County to remain as independent as possible by providing advocacy and ensuring that clients have access to needed services.
Provides an array of long-term care choices based on assessment by Care Managers and establishment of a care plan with the consumer and his or her family. The Care Manager works with the family to cooperatively determine the different types of services, such as Personal Emergency Response System buttons (PERS), Personal Care, Adult Daily Living Services, and other services to help consumers stay in their own homes and communities.
Helps county seniors to access the supports they need.
