ABA is a type of therapy that helps improve communication and social interactions, develop new skills, and support positive behavior. Families can receive a free, one-on-one consultation with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst that includes six one-hour long sessions: (1) Introduction to ABA; (2) Learn what autism is and how it relates to ABA; (3) Verbal behaviors and communication strategies; (4) The basics of ABCs and the functions of behavior; (5) ABA techniques for common behaviors; and (6) A personalized plan of available services. All coaching sessions are done through a secure online platform using videoconferencing. The program is provided at no cost to families thanks to funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
