Employability Initiative is similar to “boot camp training” for those striving to succeed in a career. Multiple weeks of intense soft-skill training before students transition into employment with one of our partner organizations. The program helps reduce recruitment costs and turnover expenses incurred by organizations who hire via other traditional methods.

Provides career counseling and assistance with job searches, job applications and resumes. Clients receive soft-skill training which includes practice job interviewing. Assistance is given to clients interested in vocational training and are aided in the process of applying to technical or vocational schools.

Assist individuals with stabilizing their barriers to success and with developing skills that prepare them for employment. Program offers successful employment and personal skills development opportunities to help individuals improve their ability to "earn, keep, and grow" a steady family-supporting income. Customers are provided with case management and referred to other services such as skill and behavior assessment, support groups, life skills, GED instruction, counseling, substance abuse treatment, and others.

Provides employment and educational services. Offers training programs for certifications, support for dislocated workers, employment-related transportation, and job retraining assistance. Assists with applying for benefits through the Department of Human Services, filing initial Unemployment Claims, and Workers' Compensation Benefits.

Provides advice sessions in person, by phone, or a video conference call with experienced volunteers who can help enhance and develop the tools, skills, and confidence needed to be successful in today’s job market. Also provides free financial consultations.

Offers 45-minute sessions on successful interviewing techniques. Provides each client with one suit when he has an interview scheduled and a second suit when he gets the job. Clients also receive free tailoring and haircut services when necessary.

Provides assistance navigating community resources and Workforce/employment services, including employment skills, career counseling, high school equivalency assistance and reentry assistance. Also provides a recovery support center with community based self help programming for individuals experiencing a substance abuse disorder. Recovery Cafe provides a safe, sober place to socialize.

Career Services: Provides resume development, job search support, recruitment events, soft skills training, career credential courses, and more to connect individuals with employers. Reentry Services: Provides record review assistance to individuals. Makes referrals for expungement, assists with pardon application submissions, and connects with reentry-friendly-employers.

Provides a program that helps individuals in transition to participate in planning and achieving their career, educational, and personal goals by improving self-esteem and building self-confidence. Services include vocational assessment, career counseling, resume preparation and interview skills, skills identification, career development and planning, job readiness instruction, job search skills, exploration of education and training resources, and job placement assistance.

Offers individualized, small group, or virtual face-to-face education support. Helps individuals improve basic education skills or provides guidance for a variety of entrance exams. Sessions are confidential and move at the pace of the client.

Provides intensive case management, education, training, work activities, job placement and retention services, and supportive services to recipients of cash assistance to enable them to move rapidly from dependence to independence through employment.

Provides employment services to assist veterans in their search for work. Provides veterans with a full range of employment services, including referral services, job development, referral to training, and referral to government and community veteran service agencies. These representatives help veterans match their job skills to employer job openings and contact employers on behalf of the veteran for consideration in hiring.

Hosts free/accessible computer lab hours. Provides assistance with resume writing, online job searching, email set up, and completing applications, forms, and documents.

Programs aid individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in searching for jobs, refining interviewing skills, and transitioning into the workforce through temporary employment positions. They focus on working with each person in the setting in which they are most comfortable. The Commerce Park Clubhouse offers a variety of employment opportunities such as Transitional Employment Positions (TEP)and Supported Employment, and also provides in-house support for those in Independent Employment. TEP’s and Supported Employment also receive Job Coaching, funded through OVR. Clubhouse administrators try to match members with positions that fit a member's needs and skill sets. Commerce Park Clubhouse has a wide variety of opportunities for members to get involved in everything from cooking to how to use a computer throughout the work day. The Tower Cafe is a vocational training restaurant operated by Community Services Group.

Prepares participants for entry-level employment in manufacturing careers, seamless entry into the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Registered Apprenticeship Program, or continued education. Covers hydraulics, industrial electricity, mechanical components, and programmable logic controls. Offers career counseling, resume development, interview preparation, and job finding help. Readies graduates for PMMI Mechatronics Level 1 and ACT National Career Readiness certification exams.

Offers an employment readiness, job coaching, and technical training program twice per year. Training includes technical skills such as design, small hand tools proficiency, and entry level machinist training. Participants also have the opportunity to improve their soft skills through mock interviews and help with building resumes.
