PA CareerLink® offices comply with the Jobs for Veterans Act by providing priority services to veterans. Local Veterans Employment Representatives and/or Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists are available at PA CareerLink® offices to assist veterans with job search and other employment needs. Job seekers identified as veterans are matched to job orders, before any other job seeker matches are performed.

Operates a 30 day emergency shelter for women, men and children, providing a safe place to stay while working to secure permanent housing. Empowers individuals to achieve permanent housing and economic self-sufficiency through a variety of services, including County-wide outreach . Emergency shelter in a different location may be available to those who do not meet shelter criteria, or when the shelter is full.

AMVETS implements programs for and advocates on behalf of veterans and their families. A network of AMVETS National Service Officers (NSOs) are stationed at VA regional offices and medical centers and provide information, counseling and claims assistance to all veterans and their dependants in matters concerning education, disability compensation, employment, hospitalization, rehabilitation, pension and other benefits. Annually awards scholarships to veterans and their dependents. Also conducts programs to teach children about American heritage, civics and citizenship. Pennsylvania AMVETS CODE Career Center provides asset assessment, resume writing assistance, interview skills training, and exploration into education, training, licensing, and certification opportunities.
