The PA CareerLink® is Pennsylvaniaâs, American Job Center that provides an array of employment and training services in a convenient, easily accessible location. Services to jobseekers include job counseling, testing and assessment; resume preparation assistance, interview training and other prejob guidance services; job matching and referral; unemployment insurance and job registration; labor market and career information; information on financial aid for education and training; and referral for job training, transportation, child care, personal and financial counseling, health care and other human services resources in the community. Services to employers include labor market information, labor exchange services, onsite recruitments, job fairs, JobGateway website navigation, workshops, local wage information, on the job training, work opportunity tax credits, lay-off aversion and referral to other services or information as needed.

An employment and training program targeted specifically to unemployed, low-income seniors age 55 and over. This program, available to eligible persons in Lycoming and Clinton Counties, provides training in part-time community service assignments and offers assistance in skill development and experience to facilitate transition to unsubsidized employment.

The Work Ordered Day Program consists of six work units: Clerical, Food Service, Education, Administrative, and Transitional Employment. New members may choose to experience each unit during an orientation period in order to determine which area is of greatest interest to them. The Clerical Unit’s duties involve receptionist work, scheduling of appointments, outreach, and member intakes and orientation. Computers are available for training in word processing, database development, preparation of monthly newsletters, and research. Additional responsibilities include Database Management, Network Management, Internet Services, Web site Administration and Computer User Technical Support. Finally, this unit is also responsible for the ordering of supplies, photocopying and filing. Offers customized job training and job placement services for those who are interested in energy-oriented careers and "smart energy" trade jobs. Graduates of the 8-week course obtain OSHA-10 Certification, are eligible to sit for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Associates exam, and are eligible to apply for available employment positions with Philadelphia OIC’s employment partners.

Works with families to understand and maximize the opportunities for supports through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and other private and publicly funded local career readiness programs. Additionally sets up volunteer opportunities with volunteer coaches for resume building. Private job finding and job coaching as well as providing those services through waiver programs once OVR supports have been exhausted.

Creates customized employment plans or self-employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities.

A registered nurse visits in the home throughout pregnancy and until the baby is two years old. They assist new parents to build strong networks of support, get referrals for health care, childcare, job training and other support services available in the community, find ways to continue education and set goals for the future.

Work crew job training is an important service that equips our clients with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. Community work crews offer opportunities for experience off-site doing janitorial and light industrial work. In 2010 we employed over 80 people on our community work crews in housekeeping and light assembly for local business and government.

Provides career counseling and assistance with job searches, job applications and resumes. Clients receive soft-skill training which includes practice job interviewing. Assistance is given to clients interested in vocational training and are aided in the process of applying to technical or vocational schools.
