The PA CareerLink is a one-stop job center that provides an array of employment and training services in a convenient, easily accessible location. Services include job counseling, testing and assessment; resume preparation assistance, interview training and other prejob guidance services; job matching and referral; unemployment insurance and job registration; labor market and career information; information on financial aid for education and training; and referral for job training, transportation, child care, personal and financial counseling, health care and other human services resources in the community.

Life skills program that focuses on the inner man that enables a man to be delivered from destructive behaviors to a productive member of society. Residential program that provides training in life skills, computer skills and employment readiness. Transitional program participants can join the Clean Team, a vocational rehabilitation program. Secondary services for clients include a weekly health clinic and outside job skills training.

A vocational training program serving individuals with developmental and/or acquired disabilities. Focused on facility based job opportunities. On a daily basis, program employees receive individualized training designed to improve vocational skills by performing vital job tasks procured from businesses within the community.

Activities include visiting parks, swimming, bowling, horseback riding, baseball games, fitness, and more. Instructs clients in a variety of social, community, technology, personal and vocational skills. The Work Ordered Day Program consists of six work units: Clerical, Food Service, Education, Administrative, and Transitional Employment. New members may choose to experience each unit during an orientation period in order to determine which area is of greatest interest to them. The Clerical Unit’s duties involve receptionist work, scheduling of appointments, outreach, and member intakes and orientation. Computers are available for training in word processing, database development, preparation of monthly newsletters, and research. Additional responsibilities include Database Management, Network Management, Internet Services, Web site Administration and Computer User Technical Support. Finally, this unit is also responsible for the ordering of supplies, photocopying and filing. OVR services include: diagnostic services, vocational evaluation, vocational counseling, job training, medical services and assistive technology equipment to help clients pursue and achieve employment, and job placement assistance.

Offers assessments by licensed optometrists, prescriptions for optical aids, and the opportunity to try out aids ranging from magnifiers, writing guides, special lighting devices, and closed-circuit TVs. Prevention of blindness programs including free vision screenings for children 12 months to 6 years of age. Transportation: This free door-to-door service provides rides to essential medical appointment or critical service need, such as obtaining a photo ID or grocery shopping. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and meet the program criteria. Appointments requested to be made in advance.
