Provides a range of prevention, protection, and supportive services with an emphasis on family preservation whenever possible. Caseworkers provide emergency and planned temporary out-of-home care when necessary to a small percentage of children active with the agency. Works to reunite families whenever possible. When reunification is not a possibility, Caseworkers work to provide a permanent, legally assured home through adoption or permanent legal custodianship. Children who age out of the system transition into independent living services. Services are provided directly by caseworkers, CYF support staff and by a network of contracted agencies.

Provides assessment and investigation of allegations of child abuse and neglect. Conducts general protective service assessments and child protective service investigations when allegations of child abuse/neglect are reported to the agency or to ChildLine, and when the abuse is alleged to have occurred in Mercer County.

Provides a foster family program to enable children who have been abused, neglected, or are otherwise without proper parental care to experience a safe, secure, stable and nurturing environment at a difficult time in their lives.

Assists in placement of children including emergency placement, home recruitment with screening, selection and supervision, work with natural family during placement, assistance with foster family adjustment, and follow-up re-adjustment.

Provides a wide range of services including: Adoption Services, Child Sexual Abuse Center, Child Welfare, Community Education, Emergency Services, Family Support Services, Foster Care and Kinship Care Services, Independent Living Services for Transition-Age Youth, Information and Referral, Home Protective Services (SCOH), Intake Evaluations, Residential Placement, Supervised Independent Living.

Programs that provide alternative family living arrangements in agency-supervised private family homes for children and youth who have been neglected, abused or abandoned in situations where a children's protective services worker or a court has decided that they cannot live safely at home.

Provides foster homes. There are varying levels of care depending on the child's needs.

Provides financial assistance, ongoing training and professional guidance and recognition for foster parents committed to meeting the medical, emotional, and behavioral needs of a child. Case management and outreach services are extended to each child's foster family and family of origin.

Operates the Children's Home of York's Permanency Program. Provides a variety of services for children and their biological, foster, and/or adoptive families from birth through the age of 18. Maintains an ongoing process of recruitment, screening, and training, which provides the ability to offer diverse geographical and racial/ethnic environments essential to the successful placement of children and sibling groups of all ages who have a variety of emotional and psychological needs.

Provides comprehensive and intensive child placement services that include clinical and case management, foster care legal services, foster home placement, and intensive family reunification services.

Provides child welfare services through programs in foster care, adoption, and permanency. Varying levels of foster care are offered including intensive foster care for youth whose needs cannot be met in their own families; intermediate foster care for youth who generally do not require more intensive interventions; and medical foster care for youth with acute physical, emotional or mental disabilities as an alternative to hospitalization or institutionalization.

Conducts and approves home studies for appropriate resource families; provide training to the resource families; assures compliance with state regulations; and monitor and provide support to resource families on an on-going basis. Resource Homes included both foster and kinship homes.

Provides support to women who are pregnant, to families seeking to adopt, and to children in need of a temporary or permanent home when reunification is not an option. Offers assessment of a family's situation, case advocacy, support groups, education, respite, family cam,p and referrals.

Provides safe and loving homes for children while equipping parents with life-improving resources to keep families together when possible.

Provides placement of children into foster care when there is danger of imminent abuse or neglect. Children may be placed with a relative, foster home, group home, or residential facility depending on the needs of the child.

Provides support to women who are pregnant, to families seeking to adopt, and to children in need of a temporary or permanent home when reunification is not an option. Offers assessment of a family's situation, case advocacy, support groups, education, respite, family cam,p and referrals.

Works concurrently toward adoption, independent living, permanent legal custodianship or another planned permanent arrangement for the child(ren).

Offers various community-based placement services designed to provide safe and supportive environments for children who cannot remain in their homes due to issues such as abuse or neglect.

Provides emergency foster care placement services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If a child is in immediate need of a safe place to stay, FCCY can provide short-term placement with a foster family for up to 30 days. During this time period, appropriate plans for future living arrangements will be made by all involved parties, including the child, the county caseworker, the children's biological/legal family, the FCCY case manager, and the foster family. In many situations, it is suggested that the child be moved from emergency placement to our Family-Based Services program.

Provides residential services to young mothers and children in need at two residential facilities located on a campus in Roxborough. A) Generations I: Provides Supervised Residential Housing for young mothers with one young child. B) Generations II: Provides Transitional Housing for young mothers with up to two young children. C) New Generations: Provides Permanent Supportive Housing for young mothers who have been identified as homeless, each with up to two children.

Licensed to pursue an adoption to finalization. The Institute also assists individuals in becoming certified foster parents through our foster care program. Also offers emergency placement and emergency respite service.

Offers Foster care for children, ages newborn to 23, including those with special medical and/or behavioral needs.
