Provides home-based services that help adults remain independent in their own homes.

Takes place in the evenings during the week or during the day on weekends. Serves individuals in the surrounding Pottsville and Tamaqua areas in Schuylkill County, who are Senior Citizens that can no longer drive a car and need transportation to get out and have some fun socializing or get some shopping done. Trips are offered once a week on different days alternating between the Pottsville and Tamaqua locations. Seating is limited on the vans and we take reservations for the trips on a first come, first serve basis. All transportation for the trips is free and staffing is provided for any assistance that is needed. Trips include: Local shopping malls Stores Area restaurants Picnics Craft nights Movie nights Local concerts Theatre productions The Hollywood Casino

Provides limited homemaker services with light housekeeping, laundry, and assistance with grocery shopping. This service is only available when the person's physical health prevents them from helping themselves, and there are no other resources. Only available if personal care is needed.

Offers transportation to our vision-impaired clients to medical appointments and essential community resources, and transportation to our low vision and diabetic support groups, which are held quarterly. Some of the services are: A) Home Delivered Meals: A meal is provided to functionally disabled, home-bound, or convalescent people age 60+ B) Personal Care Service: Provides personal grooming help - bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and transferring C) Respite Care: Program designed to provide relief to the primary caregiver. Eligibility and hours will be determined in the assessment process D) Chore Service: Minor home repair may be possible when safety and necessary upkeep is required E) Protective Services: Reports of abuse can be made by calling 717-334-9296 or 800-548-3240 24 hours a day

Offers assessments by licensed optometrists, prescriptions for optical aids, and the opportunity to try out aids ranging from magnifiers, writing guides, special lighting devices, and closed-circuit TVs. Prevention of blindness programs including free vision screenings for children 12 months to 6 years of age. Transportation: This free door-to-door service provides rides to essential medical appointment or critical service need, such as obtaining a photo ID or grocery shopping. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and meet the program criteria. Appointments requested to be made in advance.
