Assistive Technology Lending Library a free, statewide program through which individuals can borrow different types of devices to find what works best for them. Choose up to five items and we will ship items to you at no cost. If the item is checked out or not available, we will get it touch with you and give you some options. Most items are on loan for 2 weeks but check our catalog for the loan length of specific items.

Provides skills training classes, peer support, advocacy, information and referral, nursing home, and youth transition services to individuals with disabilities.

Works to ensure that people with disabilities have the same rights, opportunities, and privileges as people without disabilities. Offers training, resources, education, and assistance for families of people with intellectual disabilities through adult advocacy, systems advocacy, education advocacy, and outreach.

Supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages and their families in reaching their fullest potential as community members. Upon request, advocate can attend meetings for school-aged children ensuring a child receives free and appropriate education under the law. Support for individuals of all ages and families as they navigate the disability system. Provides: * Advocacy * Community education * Trainings * Sibling support group * Independent Monitoring for Quality: The IM4Q project collects information to improve the quality of life of people served and supported by the intellectual disability system

Offers medical assessments and referrals to specialists for Down Syndrome. Also provides information; maintains a resource book with referrals for each county in Pennsylvania; sponsors family social events and activities; and offers trainings for pediatric and family medicine residents, therapists, nurses, and service providers.

Promotes public education through press releases and public service announcements. Provides educational materials on a variety of eye conditions, and prepares presentations on a variety of topics related to blindness and vision loss. Also, provides educational programs on good eye health and good eye safety for preschoolers and adults. Sensitivity to blindness training available

Provides adult day programs and training, supportive employment services, children’s services-three approved private schools, medical rehabilitation, camp and respite programs, and residential and veterans’ services. The essential tools and resources provided enable individuals with disabilities to live their best life.

Implements several special programs that advocate for awareness and understanding of persons with disabilities. Programs include Project A.B.L.E., Firefighter/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Disability Awareness Training, ADA Compliance Training, and Disability Sensitivity Training.

Services include: * Support groups -Caregiver Groups, for women and men caring for spouse/child affected with a disability -Parents with children with disabilities -Singles with disabilities -Young Adults living with disabilities * Speakers available * Wheels for the World, collects and refurbishes old wheelchairs and distributes them worldwide * Special Delivery, gift packages of institutionalized materials delivered to people with disabilities who are hospitalized, homebound or institutionalized * Holds 3 one-week retreats per year for families with a disabled family member * Holds 1 one-week Warrior Getaway retreat for service men and women (with visible and invisible wounds of war) and their families. * Works with local churches to establish disability ministry programs in their congregations

Offers protection and advocacy services. Attends IEP meetings. Provides support materials, resources on educational law, updates on current legislation, respite services, guidance on respite care for assisted living, resources on employment and transportation programs, and training workshops on a variety of subjects.

Provides presentations or host information tables for schools, for community events and for parent/professional groups. Printed information can also be provided. Fact Sheets, available online, are brief explanations of important subjects regarding the Office of Developmental Supports and the service system.

Empowers consumers to enjoy a fulfilling life. Strives to protect their rights and pave the way for their acceptance and success in the community. Educates the York County community about intellectual disabilities and works to improve the quality and accessibility of the full range of services and supports available. Provides educational advocacy to parents to help to better address special educational needs and services.

Offers an annual advocacy and educational outreach day with speakers and physical activities.

ARCIL staff and volunteers are available to conduct disability awareness training for schools, businesses, hospitals and civic organizations.

Provides multiple services for visually impaired and legally blind individuals. Services include transportation to and from a Doctor appointment, vision exams, and information for those in need.

PASS AT ON (formerly the Reused and Exchange Equipment Partnership-REEP) isa free online classifieds for assistive technology devices. Items listed can be for sale or for free. Free to buy, sell, or browse. PASS AT ON also operates at UCP of NEPA as a free in-house reuse program for gently used Assistive Technology (AT). This program takes AT donations and provides them to individuals of all ages and varying (even age-related) disabilities to obtain for no cost through UCP's ATRC.

Offers supportive services for older adults under 60 seeking long term independent living. Services include daily living services, community integration, Personal Emergency Response Systems, home modifications, transportation, and supports coordination.

Raises awareness of various disabilities and conditions.

Provides information and referral services to individuals who are blind or vision impaired.

Offers help to build relationships, gain new knowledge, and obtain resources available. Preschool vision screenings are available for any preschool who inquires.
