Takes place in the evenings during the week or during the day on weekends. Serves individuals in the surrounding Pottsville and Tamaqua areas in Schuylkill County, who are Senior Citizens that can no longer drive a car and need transportation to get out and have some fun socializing or get some shopping done. Trips are offered once a week on different days alternating between the Pottsville and Tamaqua locations. Seating is limited on the vans and we take reservations for the trips on a first come, first serve basis. All transportation for the trips is free and staffing is provided for any assistance that is needed. Trips include: Local shopping malls Stores Area restaurants Picnics Craft nights Movie nights Local concerts Theatre productions The Hollywood Casino

Offers an Early-Stage Social Engagement Program that provides a fun and comfortable way for people living in the early stage of Alzheimer's or other dementia to get out, get active and get connected with one another through a variety of social events and community-based activities determined by individual needs and interests of the participants and that promote social interaction and companionship.

Offers encouragement through connection and support that exists within the Family of Survivors and believes in the importance of providing information and assistance to caregivers, healthcare professionals, friends, and family, as well as the survivor.

Provides older adults with activities such as trips, luncheons, swimming, exercise, senior "lite" fitness, dancing, and more.

Offers social activity programs for the blind including exercise classes, descriptive movies, audio book club, seasonal parties, and outings.

Provides social and recreational opportunities for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (HoH) children and youth to interact with other members of the Deaf and HoH community. Weekly activities and special events are available.

Offers neighborhood information about community events, health, public safety, cultural, and announcements for everyday living.

Provides a wide range of services for youth, caregivers, schools, educators, and providers, including mentoring, school-based supports, social and leadership opportunities, and caregiver classes and supports.

Offers in-person and virtual opportunities for older adults to meet and participate in activities that suit their interests and abilities. These include exercise, crafts, games, lectures, wellness programs, and social opportunities.

Offers recreational programs that include kickball, table tennis, basketball, badminton, volleyball, handball, pickleball, racquetball, and squash.

Provides a monthly social event at different restaurants around the area.

Offers a variety of enrichment programs for older adults, including: arts and crafts classes, play reading, special events, ukulele classes, intergenerational programs, educational presentations, TED talks, creative/memoir writing, sewing/needle work class, vocal and instrumental musical experiences, and book club.

Offering a social club for an opportunity to meet new people and to learn more about Self Advocacy, Independent Living Skills, and Workplace Readiness.

Provides opportunities for individuals to participate in a wide variety of social and recreational activities. Emphasis is on community-based activities. Transportation is available for most activities. Includes Summer and special vacaion programs.

Provides socialization for adults on the autism spectrum.

Provides therapeutic programming for people with memory care needs in a warm, caring, and secure setting. Offers an engaging schedule of activities led by experienced, highly trained staff. The goal of the memory day care service is to encourage the members’ independence and self-esteem through peer interaction. Participants are exposed to familiar as well as new experiences and are valued as unique individuals. The adult day care service provides support and peace of mind for regular caregivers so they are better able to take care of life’s daily responsibilities.

Social program for persons with vision impairment.

Provides educational programs, fitness and wellness programs, social clubs, and support groups recreational programs for older adults.

Provides entertainment, games, crafts, guest speakers, music, field trip and fellowship. Lunch is included.

Operates as a day program offering supervised activities in the community that include opportunities for socialization, community engagement, and volunteerism.

Offers a support group. Hosts a weekly class that encourages one another and learns important life skills as well as lessons from the Bible. Provides monthly social activities that include the kids and quarterly activities just for moms where we supply free childcare for infants through students in high school.

Provides services to support vulnerable individuals and families as well as specialized programs to promote family stability. Dixon House is always open and accessible to the community for all manner of events and activities -- self help groups, educational forums, informal basketball leagues, job fairs, and meeting space for other community organizations.

Offers creative expression workshops and social events for members to connect with one another and enjoy activities that can enhance mood and reduce anxiety and stress. Offers an array of Social/Recreation Events that are adapted for our clients. Each client and one guide may attend free of charge.
