Children receive intensive services at home or in school to help them reduce or replace problem behaviors with more positive, socially appropriate behaviors. Following an initial assessment, case managers involve both the child and the family in planning for services that may include psychological testing, psychiatric evaluation, mobile or behavioral therapy and therapeutic staff support (TSS).

Offers trauma counseling services to children, families, groups and organizations. The Connections program is designed to assist children and youth ages 2 ½ -21 years who are dealing with a trauma or loss. Children who have experienced significant trauma through abuse, loss, or witnessing violence face unique emotional challenges. Friendship House collaborates with the Childrenâs Advocacy Center and other local organizations to be prepared to offer immediate assistance to these children. We provide individual, group, and family counseling, as well as family support groups. Our trauma therapists utilize Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) which are both evidence-based programs. Offers Parent Child Interaction Therapy, (PCIT); treatment for a young child, ages 2-7 years old, that focuses on enhancing and improving the parent-child relationship. PCIT consists of 14-20 sessions focusing on two basic interactions, Child Directed Interaction- CDI and Parent Direc

Provides Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) that offers therapeutic support to a child in a specified social, behavioral or emotional area of concern. The TSS helps a child improve on needs that have been identified by the child, family, and community supports. Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC): The BSC provides assessment, treatment planning and direction and supervision of the TSS and ensures coordination of care.
