Assists with recovery from addiction that starts in a medical detox unit. The detox facility is a medical unit where doctors and nurses monitor the patient 24/7 to keep them safe. The medical detox unit uses numerous different medications to effectively make someone as comfortable as possible and finally give the mind and body the rest and nutrition it needs.
Provides acute medical detoxification to chemically dependent persons as the first phase of the recovery process. A concerted effort is made to lead the patient into the next phase of a total recovery program, i.e., outpatient, residential, or 12 step programs. Complete nursing assessments are completed on all patients admitted to the department to include: Detox Unit Initial Intake Preliminary treatment plans, Physical assessment, and Psychosocial assessments.

Detox Process: - Intake –during the intake process the patients will be assessed by the clinical staff to determine the level of care needed for the patient to become successful in their treatment process. - Medical Team – once a patient has completed the intake process a medical assessment will be conducted from our highly skilled licensed medical team. During this assessment a comprehensive treatment plan will be developed to address the withdrawal symptoms. Use an evidence based and medically monitored medication taper to detox patients in comfort. All of the programs are staffed around the clock by licensed medical and clinical staff. - Clinical Team – patients connect with their primary counselor while in detox. Provides outpatient and intensive outpatient therapy for adults with addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. Clinical assessment is conducted prior to an individual being accepted into the program. Self referral and referrals from other agencies are accepted. Length of the program is determined by individual progress. Impaired professionals, dual diagnosis, adolescents and other specialized programs are available. Detoxification and residential treatment of up to four weeks is available at the Bensalem campus in Bucks County.
