City of Lancaster - Department of Public Works - Public Art Program

The City of Lancaster administers the Public Art Program which includes the following: * Providing oversight for the inclusion of public artworks in eligible Capital Improvement Program projects and Redevelopment projects; * Providing technical assistance for developers and reviewing proposed plans for artworks; * Advising on the acquisition, placement, maintenance, or removal of public artworks on City-owned property; * Administering the City's public art collection; * Developing public art policies; * Providing technical assistance for artists; * Administering competitions for the selection of artists; * Providing public art planning, education and outreach.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania - Arts and Photography

Enable young people to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual, tactile, and/or performing arts programs. Helps young people to develop self expression and to acquire multicultural appreciation for artistic endeavors. Fine Arts are amongst the more popular art programs offered. Mural Arts Philadelphia - Restorative Justice

Offers paid apprenticeships that gives justice-impacted young people the opportunity to develop marketable job skills and reconnect with their community through mural making, carpentry, and other creative projects. Curriculum includes job readiness and life skills training, professional development, and mentorship. Participants develop skills in professional communications, teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, digital etiquette, résumé-building, and interview preparation.

Souls Shot Portrait Project - Artists

Randomly pairs each accepted artist with a family or friend of a victim of gun violence; the artist will communicate with the family or friend, receive source material such as photographs and stories, and then create a portrait of a victim of gun violence. The definition of a portrait is to be broadly interpreted. The goal is to present diverse works that in some way show the essence of the person being portrayed.

Souls Shot Portrait Project - Co-Victims and Survivors of Gun Violence

Invites families and persons who have lost someone to gun violence or who are themselves survivors of gun violence to be randomly paired with an artist who will create a portrait of their loved one for them. Participants meet with the artist and provide photos, mementos, stories, and anything that will help the artist to better know their loved one.
