Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA - Degenstein Youth Center

Provides after school activities, weekend events, special events, senior involvement, and volunteerism opportunities to the community at large. The primary mission of the Degenstein Youth Center is to help participants grow in spirit, mind, and body while strengthening family life and involvement in the community. Hours of center are Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm during school year; closed during summer months.

For The Cause - Teen Center

Teen Center, led and governed by high school students under the guidance of our experienced staff, is a hub for youth programming that encourages academic and personal growth. The center delivers opportunities for students in grades 6-12 to nurture their social, emotional, and intellectual well-being through free access to youth leadership training, tutoring/homework assistance, counseling services, cooking classes, fun events, and so much more.

Factory Ministries - Factory Youth Center

Open Door Nights: Students come together and connect with one another in a safe place. Facilities include basketball, video game systems, ping pong, pool and fooseball tables, board games, video and a room for dodgeball, hockey and other recreational activities. There is also a lesson time. Mentoring: The factory has many dedicated volunteers who meet individually with the teens. This allows the staff a chance to cultivate friendships and a opportunity to counsel and offer help and support.

Offers structured activities and safe spaces for youth who are at risk, and those who have come to the attention of the Philadelphia Police after a curfew violation. Programs offered include job readiness training, coding, conflict resolution, violent prevention, mentoring, service linkages, family engagement, and other activities. Provides referral service for families needing additional resources and services.

Donald L. Heiter Community Center - Before and After School Program

Services includes breakfast service, after school snacks, and lunch on non-school days, homework support and project supplies, and supervised playtime, arts and craft space, library and music room, creative play space, game room, and multipurpose room. Also included are walking trips to local parks when the weather permits, field trips during non-school days, carnivals, talent shows, holiday celebrations, and other activities.

Enables young people to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply leaning to everyday situations and embrace technology to optimize employability. POWER Hour, our homework and tutoring program, is another activity in this area. Immediately after school, youth are given time to study, read, or finish homework with the help of staff and volunteers. Computer lab is staffed by an area substitute teacher.

Xiente - Teen Center

Provides a safe space and youth enrichment programming for area youth. Staffed by youth mentors. Norris Square Neighborhood Project - After School and Summer Programs

Offers paid apprenticeships to youth each semester and during the summer. Apprentices work alongside gardens staff to plant, grow, harvest, and sell foods and herbs in agency urban gardens. Develops leadership skills through creating lesson plans and delivering instruction to Semillas del Futuro participants in weekly classes.

Free Library of Philadelphia - Field Teen Center

Offers a dedicated library space for youth ages 12 to 18. Provides library services to teens including in-person and virtual programs, reference, and research support. Houses a collection of Young Adult fiction, comics, graphic novels, manga, and non-fiction that is open to all for browsing and borrowing. Also supports Philadelphia students and educators by offering virtual class visits, including instruction on using Free Library databases for academic research customized to class projects.

Water Street Mission - Teen Haven

Provides a safe, fun and loving environment where youth are equipped through the Gospel of Jesus and Christian faith and guidance. Throughout the school year, weekly programs are held for youth that include recreational activities, leadership development, discipleship and mentorship opportunities. For summer camp, campers meet daily. Camps are held weekly during the month of July. Field trips, lunch and other activities are included.
