If you feel you have experienced illegal discrimination, in general, you have 180 days from when the alleged discrimination happened, to file a complaint or report a bias incident to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC). A PHRC staff member is available to help you decide whether you would like to file a complaint. Staff can help you draft the complaint and prepare it in legal form for your verified signature.

Provides mediation for people to openly discuss conflict and determine whether reconciliation is possible. The parties may speak in a confidential setting directly to each other and be heard. Most of the commissioners are trained mediators.

Works to prevent and respond to civil tension and violence arising from conflicts between ethnic or cultural groups and public expressions of bias or hate.
