Advisors are available to go to homes to provide nutrition education for low-income clients. Also provides information on chemical safety, such as using pesticides, and advises which products should be used for a specific cause.

A comprehensive information and referral program. The primary service is assessment of caller needs, followed by sharing of information about and referrals to appropriate resources that will address client needs, questions and concerns. Maintains an extensive database of health and human services, including non-profit agencies and government programs. Works to ensure that region’s children arrive at school ready to learn, and attend schools that have the resources needed to provide a quality education.

Offers programs related to eye safety for children.

Provides unstructured, child directed play experiences for children through kindergarten age. Allows children to use their creativity while developing imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive and emotional strength.

Offers a series of pamphlets for children and parents, and a comprehensive lesson plan to be used by those teaching prevention in pre-school programs and elementary schools. Programs to train the trainer are also available.

The Conservation District can provide environmental programs for schools and meetings and assist with outdoor field days and events.

Maintains a free lending library of books and curriculum materials and a clearinghouse for substance abuse prevention; handouts are also available.
