The Sheriff and his or her deputies are responsible to keep the peace in the county, to arrest violators of the law, and to assist other law enforcement agencies in the county, and to serve and enforce orders of the Wyoming County Court of Common Pleas.

Sheriff's duties include: Security for Pike County Offices, Courtroom Security, Prisoner Transport, I.N.S. and Marshall Service Transports, Civil Process - Evictions, Writs, Real Estate Sheriff Sales, Civil Complaints Court Issued, Protection from Abuse, Criminal Warrants, Civil Disobedience / Unrest Labor Disputes, etc., D.A.R.E. Drug Prevention Program, Triad Senior Citizen Safety Programs, Bomb Disposal Unit, Member Drug Task Force, Member N.E. Terrorist Task Force For Homeland Security, and Concealed Carry Permits for Pistols.

The Sheriff's office is responsible for issuing pistol permits, processing of civil complaints, executing warrants of arrest and transporting prisoners to and from state and county correctional facilities statewide and interstate. This office also processes and conducts Sheriff's sales of real estate and personal property.
