Maintains and controls all activities relating to Voter Registration and Elections under the supervision of the Pike County Board of Elections. The office prepares machine ballots, programs voting machines, processes and issues absentee ballots, oversees district election workers and maintains county and local candidate filings for elected offices. In addition the office also maintains records of county election results, campaign finance filings, polling places and district election workers.

The Office of Elections and Registration is accountable for the effective conduct of all elections and voter registration throughout the county. The staff complies with a broad spectrum of duties in assuring a smooth election process. Luzerne County election office is responsible for the administration of the election laws which includes voter registration and two elections per year. This office is responsible for all new voter registrations in the county and any changes to current registrations such as addresses, name or party affiliation, and the canceling of voter's records with regards to those who have moved or are deceased.
