Elementary students are introduced to The Nurse’s Pantry through school nurses, principals and guidance counselors. In addition to attire, The Nurse’s Pantry also provides hygiene items, appropriate footwear, outerwear, undergarments, and lice treatment kits. The United Way has created and facilitates The Nurse’s Pantry in 34 schools throughout the Wyoming Valley.

Engages, assesses, and combats homelessness for individuals living on the streets, in encampments, and other locations not intended for human habitation. Outreach staff work to build trust with those experiencing homelessness first by helping to meet some of their basic needs (including providing a mailing address to receive mail, food, clothing, showers, laundry, transportation, identification, etc.). The street reach coordinator collaborates with everyone to access housing, employment, medical care, mental health care, substance abuse treatment, and other services while advocating for housing solutions for clients. Offers showers and laundry any day of the week from 9:00am to 12:00pm and 3:00pm to 5:00pm. There is a sign-up sheet out front and then admitted into the building into the lobby to wait for the shower time. Coffee and snacks, free clothing bins, winter coats, tents, sleeping bags, and mail pick-up are also being served while waiting.

Provides transportation from certain pick up points in Lower Bucks to the shelters. Each site acts as a shelter on a rotating basis for each month of winter, or when code blues are declared. Also provides bedding and some clothing. The host church provides the space, a hot meal, and breakfast. No children under 18 years old. No service animals allowed.
