Advocacy promotes and protects the civil rights of children and adults with IDD. The Arc's professional advocates provide assistance and information sharing to individuals and families on such matters as available supports, public education, employment and housing. Information is shared with local, state and federal legislators to ensure policies promote the best interest of individuals with IDD.

In Home Respite/Family Aide service is provided to supervise and support individuals with intellectual disabilities/autism living in private homes on a short-term basis during times when their primary caretaker is absent or needs relief.

Provides services and support to learn skills needed to work at the job of choice in the community. Services include job finding, job coaching, supportive employment, community based work assessments, discovery profiles, customized employment, career assessments, and on-the-job training.

CATCH is an evaluation process for children in early intervention who are at risk for autism.

Provides caregivers an opportunity to enjoy a night off, or some quiet time to spend with their other children while their child with autism is safely cared for. Respite Care is open to all families affected by autism, regardless of their affiliation with Friendship House.

Providing a membership that is comprised of individuals with ASD and those who love them. We provide members, families, caretakers and professionals with support and information pertaining to the latest interventions and educational practices, therapies, and available programs for individuals with ASD. We also provide opportunities for those living with ASD to overcome social barriers, enjoying group and leisure activities in the community. Our goal is to help people with autism live full and independent lives. Any family can reach out for Resources regardless of membership status. We will always do our best to help find services that are needed. There is a Parent Support Group that generally meets at Graham Academy where childcare is provided. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide in-home and community support to people with intellectual and developmental differences, including enhanced autism services. The frequency, time, and duration of our support are led by participants and their families as authorized by Supports Coordinators. Services are individualized to one’s preferences and needs.

Offers compliance with the development of the Individualized Support Plan and insuring the appropriate implementation as required by the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs. Monitors the provider and family compliance with the plan and consumer progress and safety.

The Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) is a 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid waiver designed to provide long-term services and supports for community living, tailored to the specific needs of adults aged 21 or older with ASD. The program is designed to help adults with autism spectrum disorder participate in their communities in the way they want to, based on their identified needs.

Assists individuals to fully function as members of our community with-out twenty-four hour staff supervision. A Supported Living Coach provides supports to individuals in one or more of the following areas: scheduling appointments, budgeting, shopping, transportation, etc. Family Living/Life Sharing offers an opportunity for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a family or individual to share their lives. Family Living/Life Sharing is based on the importance of enduring and permanent relationships as the foundation for learning life skills, developing self-esteem and learning to exist in interdependence with others.

Provides in home and community settings to assist individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism in acquiring, maintaining, and improving self-help, domestic, socialization, and adaptive skills needed to reside successfully in home and community-based settings.

Intensive Behavioral Health Services provide clinical services in the home, school, or community setting using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Includes Mobile Therapy, Therapeutic Staff Support and Behavioral Specialists.

Provides advocacy on behalf of individuals and their families to ensure that they receive the benefits and services for which they are eligible and that organizations within the established service delivery system meet the collective needs of the client. Provides advocacy in schools and in the community. Service provided on case by case basis.

Offers monitoring of waiver services, eligibility determination for intellectual disabilities and autism, and monitoring of provider compliance with state and federal regulations.

Providing a safe and non-threatening way to process emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Also, helps individuals learn to regulate their emotions, develop coping skills, and improve self-control, Play therapy is often used with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other special needs. Beneficial for children experiencing major life changes such as parental divorce, relocation, loss of a loved one, or changes in family structure.

Supported Employment Services assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain and maintain employment. Particular to individual needs, an Arc Job Coach will assist with the application process, skill development, and any area related to acquiring and keeping a job including transportation and social skill awareness.

Provides trained staff in each home to assist individuals in various aspects of household routines such as shopping, laundry, cooking, budgeting and entertaining.

Helps children with autism achieve the next level of independence based on their unique needs and strengths.

Works with high school students and as vendors with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) to provide development services. Offers job shadowing, on-the job-training, community based work assessments, work based learning experience, and discovery customized employment.

Transportation service is offered to qualified individuals with intellectual disabilities/autism needing non-medical transportation. Service provided on case by case situational basis.

Offer a Kindergarten Program that features two classes: one classroom that serves both typically developing children and those with special needs and one classroom dedicated to teaching children with an autism diagnosis.

Companion program service is provided to individuals living in private homes for the limited purpose of providing supervision and assistance directed towards the health and safety of an adult with intellectual disabilities/autism.
