Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania - FireFly Camps and Weekend Retreats

FireFly Summer Camps provide a traditional camp experience for individuals with spina bifida and related disabilities. The program combines traditional camp fun with skill development in a barrier-free atmosphere regardless of disability. Weekend Retreats are an extension of the FireFly Summer Camp Program. Weekend Retreats enable participants to get together with friends throughout the year.

Supports young adults with spina bifida and other related disabilities with a proactive and holistic service aimed at maintaining their health and wellness. Wellness Coordinators help individuals manage the cognitive, physical, and emotional aspects of their disability within the healthcare and social service systems.

Pennsylvania Department of Health - State Health Center

Offers the following services: - Immunizations (all ages), offered by appointment Thursday, 9:00-11:30am & 1:00-2:30 pm. Immunization record must be brought along. Immunizations for measles, rubella, and mumps can be given between ages 12-15 months, others usually 2 months. The following immunizations are offered: DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis) IPV (Inactivated Polio Vaccine) Prevnar (Pneumocial vaccine for infants) MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) Hepatitis B-Hepatitis A Gardasil (Vaccine used to prevent cervical cancer and precancerous cervical lesions) HIB (hemophilus influenza) DT Booster or TD (for older children) Varicella (chickenpox) TDYS - Tuberculosis Clinics provide confidential diagnosis, treatment (including medication), and follow-up. (Will do a free testing for persons who have been exposed to the germ). TB clinic by appointment - HIV/AIDS antibody testing and pre- and post-test counseling. Free, confidential, and anonymous.
