YWCA Lancaster - YWCA Kepler Hall Residence and Emergancy Shelter

Provides: Six shelter rooms for single parents, referred by Coordinated Entry and verified homeless. Case management consists of budgeting, housing, employment, mental health referrals, childcare referrals and any additional services that are needed for the client to move out. Twelve Single Room Occupancy (SRO), section 8 for female identified, both verified homeless and referred by Coordinated Entry. Income based permanent housing. 20 rooms private pay. Rent is based on fair market value, however if rent is more that half of the person's income the tenant will only pay 50% of their income. Single female identifying persons may apply in person or online.

Community CARES - Homeless Prevention and Diversion

Provides funding for those living in Cumberland County who are at risk of becoming homeless. Offers homeless prevention that assists those who have housing right now but who may become homeless soon because they lost income or had another eligible emergency that prevents them from paying rent. Assistance may include the following: Payment of rent arrears to prevent eviction; Utility shut-offs; Security deposits for housing; First month's rent for housing; Assistance covering the cost of housing applications; Pay for transportation to a confirmed location with support to avoid street homelessness; and Assistance with bedding and toiletry supplies if experiencing homelessness.

Family and Community Service of Delaware County - Ralph Moses House

Provides Joint Transitional-Housing and Rapid Rehousing for 10 homeless males with multiple barriers such as mental health and/or substance abuse, low or zero income, and physical disabilities, to name a few. Residential Counselors provide 24-hour assistance to residents during the 90-day Transitional Housing Program; there is opportunity to learn basic life skills, budgeting, healthy eating and exercise, and other topics to improve quality of life and live independently and self-sufficiently.

Provides a 76-bed residence fo young men, young women, and young families in need of emergency shelter. Offers a process called Open Intake with no questions asked for residents seeking a bed. Also houses a clinic, pastoral ministry, a cafeteria, and a team to assist with going to college and finding a job.

Community CARES - Family Shelter (FS)

Provides a safe and warm emergency shelter that houses up to 12 families. The shelter is a temporary home until the parents can get back on their feet. CARES provides case management, life skills classes, employment search support, parenting classes, and children’s activities. Our team also provides linkage to independent housing, benefits acquisition, and healthcare services for up to 90 days. Family shelter is located in Shippensburg, PA, Cumberland County.
