Assesses eligibility and manages shelter openings for for families with minor children who are experiencing literal homelessness in Allegheny County.

Standardized and coordinated assessment and referral service for everyone who is seeking services from the network of homeless services. Services include: - Assist a household that cannot otherwise be diverted or prevented from homelessness connect with the shelter that best fits the household's needs and goals. - Assist persons experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized. - Case management/Follow-up

Provides intake and referrals for single women with children facing an emergency housing crisis after hours (weekday evenings after 5pm, weekends, and holidays).

Provides shelter and advocacy for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Shelter residents are expected to participate in the activities provided and complete daily chores.

Emergency shelter and transitional housing program provides shelter for homeless single women and families. Program focuses on identifying the barriers that keep their residents from reaching their housing goals. This is a community living facility. Each resident has their own bedroom that is shared with their children. The kitchen, bathrooms, and lounges are utilized by all residents.

Offers community shelter/housing with self-contained, furnished one and two-bedroom apartments. Works with other local agencies to help clients find employment, housing, childcare, and other resources. Counseling and skills classes are provided.

Provides an emergency shelter for families who have become homeless. Provides food, shelter, and individualized case management services to families that have lost their homes. Families are provided shelter at local congregations in evening and provided transportation to the day center during day hours. Meals are served at day center and families have access to showers and are able to do laundry. Services are available for 4 to 6 months.

Provides emergency housing for men, women and children. Offers support services to assist homeless residents in gaining independence as quickly as possible. Residents actively work with Gate House staff to identify and work toward goals including obtaining employment, securing affordable housing, furthering education and gaining important life skills.
