Responsibilities include: - Investigation of criminal activities - Investigation of vehicle accidents - Promote traffic safety, enforce statutes, eliminate traffic hazards and encourage motorists to practice safe driving techniques. - Assistance in locating missing persons - Community presentations on traffic safety and crime-related subjects - Liquor Control Enforcement Hotline is used to report underage drinking on licensed or unlicensed premises. Partners with the majority of Montgomery County police departments to assist officers who respond to domestic abuse calls. Provides 24/7 on-site domestic violence advocacy. Once an officer has secured the scene, advocates work with victims and their children to provide safety planning, information about and assistance with the PFA process, court accompaniment, and referrals to resources as needed.

Trains physicians, nurses, medical students, and other medical professionals to recognize the signs of domestic abuse. Provides on-site support when available to victims at local hospitals. Develops and distributes resource materials which are used by hospitals and health care providers when they are dealing with victims of domestic violence.

Increases awareness of violence and its impact on all levels of the community, as well as teaches strategies to individuals of all ages on how to reduce the risk of victimization, through our Prevention/Education Program. Educational programs are available for all age groups and may be presented in school or community settings.
Provides Preventive Education programs for schools, community and professional organizations throughout Philadelphia. Educational programs are tailored to address the concerns and needs of the audience requesting the workshop, training or program. To ensure the safety of those receiving services, WOAR's Education staff obtained Child Abuse, Federal and State Background checks.
