Service: - Pre-K Counts
Provides Head Start, Early Head Start, and Pre-K Counts programs in Greene and Washington counties.
Provides early childcare services for 1 year olds (young toddlers) through Pre-K.
Provides a free preschool experience at no cost to eligible families for children ages 3 to 5.
Pre-K Counts is a pre-kindergarten program that helps prepare children for full-day kindergarten. The district is now accepting registrations for children who will be 3 years of age prior to September 1, 2020, for our Pre-K Counts program for the 2020-2021 school year. Income guidelines listed below must be met to qualify for this program. Please call the elementary office at 570-547-1608, ext. 1127, and leave a message stating you would like to register your child for pre-k for the 2020-2021 school year. Please include your name, address and phone number and the secretary will call you back. If you did not register your child who will turn 4 prior to September 1, 2020, for the district’s Pre-K Counts preschool program when registration was held in early March, please call the elementary office and leave a message as referenced above.
Offers classrooms that are designed for children between age 3 and until eligible to enter kindergarten. Prepares children for reading and math, but also teaches children to pay attention, follow directions, and get along with others. Full and half day sessions are available.
Offers preschool services for children. Program runs year round with the new school year starting in July, and continuing through June. Children attend Monday through Thursday for either a morning or afternoon session.
Offers a preschool program with the purpose to provide developmentally appropriate activities for children in a Christian atmosphere. These activities include play, large & small motor activities, language usage, art, music, children's literature and group/individual learning activities. The children also participate in a Bible story program and prayer time integrated throughout the preschool curriculum. Children take part in a lending library. A large gym is available for inside play and a playground for outside play.
