Offers industry internships to students in participating school districts. Intership offerings include: Dental Internship: The dental internship program has been modeled after NTIEC's long-standing hospital internship program, whereas students will participate for three hours a day, once a week for approximately five-seven weeks during the fall and spring semesters. This unique opportunity will provide students with an up front and close look at the various jobs available in dentistry. They will observe and shadow dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, lab technicians and the office staff. Intership designed for 10th to 12th grades. Hospital Internship: Students visit area hospitals for two to three hours once a week for six-seven weeks during the fall or spring semester. A secondary special education program focused on providing comprehensive academic instruction and real-life career exploration, experiences, and training to students with disabilities to best prepare them for successful post-secondary training and education, employment, and independent living. Career Lecture Series: One to two class periods where a diverse range of professionals (e.g., healthcare, trades, business, sciences, etc.) will visit area high schools and provide an in-depth discussion about their respective careers, the skills and/or educational pathways required to be successful and the potential opportunities for advancement. These businesses are integrated (e.g., employ people with and without disabilities) and pay at or above minimum wage. Achieva Employment Supports also include the Vault Art Studio that offers the opportunity for artists with disabilities to receive professional-level arts instruction, access to exhibition space, and career coaching.
