Maintains information about malpractice liability suits. Pays claims against participating health care providers and eligible entities for losses or damages.

Offers health care services for Medical Assistance recipients; to improve the quality of health care available to Medical Assistance recipients; and to stabilize Pennsylvania's Medical Assistance spending.

Assist individuals to enroll in the Marketplace - Pennie (under the Affordable Care Act), CHIP, Medicaid, or Medicare Savings Programs.

One-on-one counseling, holds seminars open to the public on topics such as Medicare Basics, programs to help save money and Medicare Prescription Coverage.

Offers medical benefits including doctor visits, hospital services, vision, dental, and prescription benefits, and other programs unique to their plan.

Helps beneficiaries understand and enroll in their Medicare and other health insurance benefits, including the Medicare prescription benefit; files appeals, assists with billing/claim issues, and helps with applying for eligibility assistance program that may help lower Medicare costs. Volunteer training provided.

Provides assistance with understanding Medicare and Medicaid eligibility benefits, Medicare supplemental insurance, Medicare HMOs and long-term care insurance. Trained volunteers and staff assist in filing appeals and grievances for denied services and quality of care in Medicare HMOs.

Assists with the comparison and selection of Medicare supplemental Insurance Plans, Medicare managed Care Programs, Medicare prescription, long-term care insurance policies, and other health insurance and public benefit programs. Provides claim filing and other related paperwork assistance, advocacy, and referral to other appropriate federal & state agencies are also available.

Connects consumers to health coverage. Assists with Medicaid, CHIP, and Pennie – Pennsylvania’s state-based health insurance exchange.

Serves as the central point of contact for individuals who need help or legal advice resolving problems with Medicaid, such as coverage or services being stopped or reduced.

Support Services and Consumer Resources offers assistance on a variety of legal, financial and health services. Age eligibility may apply. Services available include: A) Financial and Legal Advice B) Benefit Screenings and Application Assistance C) Medicare and Healthcare Options; APPRISE Counselor D) Assistance with LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program). E) Access to Other Agencies and Government Services

Provides a medicare counseling program designed to help older adults. The PA MEDI program is a State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) funded in whole or part by a grant through the Administration for Community Living.
