Employability Initiative is similar to “boot camp training” for those striving to succeed in a career. Multiple weeks of intense soft-skill training before students transition into employment with one of our partner organizations. The program helps reduce recruitment costs and turnover expenses incurred by organizations who hire via other traditional methods.

Offers individualized, small group, or virtual face-to-face education support. Helps individuals improve basic education skills or provides guidance for a variety of entrance exams. Sessions are confidential and move at the pace of the client.

Specially trained veteran employment representatives located in PA CareerLink® offices provide veterans with a full range of employment services, including referral services, job development, referral to training, and referral to government and community veteran service agencies. These representatives help veterans match their job skills to employer job openings and contact employers on behalf of the veteran for consideration in hiring. PA CareerLink® offices comply with the Jobs for Veterans Act by providing priority services to veterans. Local Veterans Employment Representatives and/or Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists are available at PA CareerLink® offices to assist veterans with job search and other employment needs. Job seekers identified as veterans are matched to job orders, before any other job seeker matches are performed.

Participants take technical classes at Johnson College to obtain industry-specific credentials. In addition to classes, participants take part in employee readiness workshops that relate to workplace knowledge, professionalism, and long-term success. After program completion, participants will have earned professional certification in a high-priority occupation and find gainful employment.

Provide educational, social, political, economic, health and employment services to Hispanic, immigrant and refugee populations in Erie. Services include English language education and interpretation, translation, GED education, immigration services, life skill development, aging, health education and assessment and community diversity training, employment preparation and placement and child day care for client and community families.
