Offers access to a resource library that includes: computers with internet access and resume writing software; PA CareerLink registration; resume packets; information on interviewing skills and writing cover and follow-up letters; labor market and training provider information; job listings; information on local agencies, services, and resources; and phone, fax, and copier access for job searching.

Provides a reentry organization support and meetings to advocate and coordinate services for ex-offenders (barriers to employment for returning citizens, resume and job application assistance). Meetings are held at CareerLink (100 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104).

Provides direct assistance through classes and/or one-on-one. Assistance includes, but is not limited to: resume preparation, mock interviews, job search assistance, completion of on-line applications, job readiness techniques, one-on-one mentoring to assist clients in obtaining gainful employment. Focuses on providing guidance in the areas of vocational training, certification and/or license, in the field of Real Estate, Paralegal, Forklift, and OSHA Certifications to help enhance and build credentials for employment.

Provides comprehensive jobseeker assistance, including job readiness training, resume development workshops, job finding assistance, and more. Also provides employment services to persons formerly incarcerated (reentering / returning citizens or ex-offenders).

Supports individuals, particularly women, as they transition back into the workforce following incarceration and/or recovery from substance use disorder. Specifically designed for these groups, the curriculum uses an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach that incorporates mindfulness and creative activities. Also includes one-on-one coaching and wraparound supports to help ensure successful re-entry.

Career Services: Provides resume development, job search support, recruitment events, soft skills training, career credential courses, and more to connect individuals with employers. Reentry Services: Provides record review assistance to individuals. Makes referrals for expungement, assists with pardon application submissions, and connects with reentry-friendly-employers.

Offers work release and alternative housing for both male and female offenders in the criminal justice system; provides cognitive behavioral-based program that emphasizes accountability and responsibility of the individual.

Provides job readiness services (resume writing, interviewing skills, etc.), job training in the labor market, and high priority occupations area of: manufacturing, construction, health care, and transportation. Assists with job placement and retention services.

Takes clients who have self-identified with having a criminal background through a 4 step career readiness and job search process with hopes of getting that client skills training and landing a job where they can make a living wage and progress in their career. The process consists of the following employment services: - Landing a Job with a Criminal Background Seminar/Workshop - Resume Preparation Workshop - Application and Interviewing Workshop - Foundation Skills/TABE assessment/Career Interest Profile - Individual Employment and Training Planning - National Career Readiness preparation and certification in work based Math, Reading, and Locating information - Soft Skills training - Occupational Skills Training specifically addressing Lancaster County's in demand occupations (if needed). Training is offered through Stevens College, LCCTC, etc. and include but are not limited to: Intro to Welding/Blueprint, MetalCasting, Forklift/Certified Logistics Associate, Intro to Manufacturing,

Provides paid job training, paid transitional employment, and career development support for people who are often excluded from the workforce. The training and experience are in the environmental sector - planting trees, building trails, caring for green infrastructure, and other related projects.

Offers a comprehensive entrepreneurship program where returning citizens learn "Business 101" and how to transfer their "street skills" into the business world in order to open small businesses. Provides step by step instruction concerning how to start a business in Pennsylvania, including how to write a business plan, file the appropriate paperwork, and obtain a business privilege license.

Provides career-connected education and paid work experiences. Engages disconnected young adults and returning citizens in advancing their lives through service.

Offers assessment, job coaching, job placement, and employment-related transportation to individuals facing barriers to work force entry or re-entry.

Works to reduce the rate of recidivism among people returning home from prison by providing immediate paid employment, skills, training, and ongoing career support.

Providing career services, placement, and reentry services. After enrollment program details, including participant responsibilities, are reviewed as well as any barriers the participant has that need to be addressed such as securing identification (photo ID, driver's license, birth certificate, social security card., etc.). While the participant is still incarcerated (pre-release), job readiness services are provided along with career exploration and discussions of education and occupational skills training opportunities. Post-release we continue to coordinate education, training, and employment activities while also encouraging participants in their continuation with any, court ordered or voluntary, mental health services and/or drug and alcohol treatment. We also continue to provide supportive services such as bus passes, work clothing, etc. From the date of initial enrollment, we are in contact with participants for about two or more years.

Provides reentrants with traffic control training, state and federal certifications, wages, and benefits. Offers additional services through partnerships for housing, substance use disorder counseling, and community involvement.

Provides transitional employment with an electronics waste recycling company to people returning from prison. Offers a supportive environment for learning marketable job skills and a network of individuals who work together toward self- and community improvement. After 6 to 9 months, assists participants with preparing applications for jobs in industries for which they are eligible. Works with employers willing to hire job-ready, returning citizens for full-time, gainful employment. Also offers forklift training, hazmat training, and DOT cards as well as financial literacy and digital literacy training.

Southwestern Pennsylvania Re-entry Coalition was created by Mon Valley Initiative to coordinate resources for individuals whose criminal record creates barriers to self-sufficiency, through collaboration among agencies in Southwestern Pennsylvania. SPARC brings representatives from these participating organizations together to find the best way to provide formerly incarcerated individuals with the services and resources they need to successfully re-enter society and the workforce. SPARC currently works to: A) Identify potential career paths for people re-entering the workforce (excluding those from which individuals with criminal backgrounds are banned by law) B) Increase the number of employers willing to hire formerly incarcerated individuals through education about incentive programs C) Address policy issues through information and advocacy

Provides services that include: A) Job Readiness (resume writing, Interviewing skills, etc.) B) GED Prep and Testing C) Job Training in High Priority D) Occupations (EX: HVAC, Electrical, CNA, Plumbing, Machine Operator, etc.) E) Supportive Services such as: Books, tools, boots, and uniforms provided for work and school, ID/Licenses, etc.

Introduces returning citizens to the building trades and teaches the necessary skills to apply for a registered apprenticeship. Offers several cohorts throughout the year; each course runs for six weeks, four hours each weekday, totaling 120 hours. The program provides a paid stipend. Support group and mental health services available.
