Community Bike Works - Earn a Bike

Helps kids learn life lessons while they build bicycles. Students are paired with adult mentors, then spend 12 weeks learning how to fix and ride a bike they choose. At the end of the session, students earn their refurbished bike and a new helmet. Students enrolled in this program can also access others, including afterschool drop-in, Earn a Book, youth leadership, and cycling programs.

A group mentoring program for teens ages 13 and older who are already a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Designed to teach adult-life skills and help teens prepare for the decisions they will need to make after high school graduation. Meets once a month. It is run by teens.

Mental Health America of Lancaster County - Compeer Lancaster

Matches volunteers in one-to-one relationships with adults who are recovering from mental illness. Their friendship provides structured opportunities for socialization which decreases loneliness and increases well being and confidence in the clients. Some opportunities include meeting for coffee, visiting local museums, going out to eat and taking walks together. Other volunteer opportunities include making a 15 minute phone call each week to an individual waiting for one-to-one friend. Program is also available to veterans.
