Allentown School District - Family Centers


Family Centers, located at Jefferson and Central Elementary Schools, coordinate and facilitate a variety of support services for Allentown School District families. Family Centers seek to ensure the healthy growth and development of children by coordinating a wide variety of support services for families in the communities in which they live. These services include: * Parent Support and Child Development Education * Pediatric Health Services * Healthy After-School and Summer Activities * Family Preservation Services * Education and Employment-Related Services Family Development Specialist certified in parent education home visits meet groups of parent sand provide assessments and support to parents for their children from pregnancy through kindergarten. They facilitate access to needed services and coordinate case management services. Health centers are also located in the elementary schools served by the Family Centers. Bethlehem Area School District - Family Services

Family centers provide families with a network of services accessible through local schools. Services available include healthcare services/clinics, family literacy programs, PAT (an in-home parenting program for 0-5 years old) summer recreational and enrichment programs, information and referral to other community resources. Maternity Care Coalition - Early Head Start

Offers free linguistically and culturally-appropriate health services, education, and social services to pregnant women, children ages 0 to 3, and their families. Greater Nanticoke Area School District - Parents As Teachers (PAT)

Provides a home visit program. Pre-natal services are also available. Provides an evidence-based home visiting model which stresses the importance of a parent's role as the primary teacher for their child. Home visits include lessons in parenting skills and education as well as information and referrals for other identified needs in the household. Additionally, weekly parent-child group communication meetings are offered. Group meetings offer participating families to continue to work on their parent-child interaction skills as well as meeting with and socializing with other parents in programming.

Columbia Dream Center - Columbia Dream Center Restart Day Center

Shelter guests and the community can come to the Day Center for help with needed resources. They have a Case Manager who can assist with job and home searches, obtaining id's, recovery assistance, professional connections, benefits, medical connections and much more. All are welcome to hang out at their Day Center for a warming or cooling station. Free lunch 11:00am to 12:00pm, coffee, water, snacks, and resource help. Individuals do not have to be staying at the shelter to attend the day center.
