Beginnings, Inc. - Parent as Teachers

In-home visiting program that helps parents through support, education - empowerment through knowledge. Each family that enrolls in the program is assigned a Parent Educator who brings them activities that are developmentally appropriate for their children, books to encourage early literacy skills, information and curriculum about key parenting topics, and connections to resources.

ARIN Intermediate Unit 28 - Parent Child Home Program

Offers a home visiting program for children who are two years old that focuses on parent-child interaction and pre-literacy skills to prepare children to succeed in school. Participating families are given educational books and toys and are visited two times a week for 23 weeks.

Greater Nanticoke Area School District - Parents As Teachers (PAT)

Provides a home visit program. Pre-natal services are also available. Provides an evidence-based home visiting model which stresses the importance of a parent's role as the primary teacher for their child. Home visits include lessons in parenting skills and education as well as information and referrals for other identified needs in the household. Additionally, weekly parent-child group communication meetings are offered. Group meetings offer participating families to continue to work on their parent-child interaction skills as well as meeting with and socializing with other parents in programming.

Home visit program for children, ages birth to 5, and their parents. Pre-natal services are also available. Provides an evidence-based home visiting model which stresses the importance of a parent's role as the primary teacher for their child. Home visits take place one time a month. Home visits include lessons in parenting skills and education as well as information and referrals for other identified needs in the household. No eligiblity requirements apply and enrollment is free. Agency referrals and self referral are accepted.

An early childhood parent education and family support program designed to empower all parents to be their child's teacher. Provides parents with information on child development from birth to age 3 and suggests learning opportunities that encourage language, intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth. It is a voluntary primary prevention program that offers: - Personal Visits: Personalized home visits by certified parent educators, trained in child development to help parents understand what to expect in each stage of their child's development and offer practical tips on ways to encourage, learning to manage challenging behavior and promote strong parent-child relationships. Visits are offered bi-weekly. - Group Meetings: Parents meet together to gain new insights and to share their experiences, common concerns and successes.
