Develop a smoke-free lifestyle The program is offered free of charge. Wellspan Health offers free one-on-one tobacco treatment planning sessions to Adams and York county residents. At these counseling sessions, a certified tobacco cessation counselor will:

Assess your dependence on nicotine

Discuss any past attempts to quit

Review strategies and coping skills to get you through urges to smoke or chew

Develop a tailored "quit plan" specific to your lifestyle. Wellspan Health also offers a self guided program for those who want to quit on their own. WellSpan also provides referrals to the PA quitline at 1800-quitnow

Offers adult substance abuse counseling on an outpatient and intensive outpatient basis. Provide a comprehensive assessment, referral,drug and alcohol education, and individual and/or group counseling. Also provide aids to prevent addiction in the first place. Offer Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) for Opioid Addiction. Pysicians use Suboxone and Vivitol at treatment modalities.

Freedom from Smoking is an 8-week program developed by the American Lung Association. Topics covered included personal addiction to tobacco products, overcoming cravings, stress management, and tips to prevent relapse. Facilitated by a trained and certified instructor.

The Health Dept. offers a wide variety of educational and preventive programs and consulting services. Programs are available to schools, businesses, community organization, etc., and can be tailored to fit most health topics. Available programs include cancer prevention, cardiovascular health and screenings, childhood lead poisoning prevention, dental health, falls prevention, tobacco control, nutrition and physical activity, Lyme Disease and osteoporosis.

In addition to one-on-one navigation, the Addiction Resource Center also provides free brochures, educational materials, and speaking engagements for individuals and community organizations throughout Chester County.

Assesses callers for their readiness to quit and provides counseling options and structured assistance. Provides active listening to callers, educational information, and referral to other healthcare professionals if needed, prescription advice for action, social reinforcement, skill training, and encouragement for expressions of thoughts and feelings.

Operates a veterans outpatient clinic with services including primary care, audiology, dental care, dermatology, gynecology, podiatry, rehabilitation services, smoking cessation, social work and mental health services. Does not offer emergency services at this location. Has volunteer opportunities available.

Provides smoking cessation services through the Respiratory Therapy Department. Offers inpatient consulting to all patients who use tobacco products, as well as outpatient one-on-one consulting and group quit classes.

Prevention, education, advocacy, enforcement and one-on-one/group therapy for individuals, worksites, schools, etc. In some cases, Nicotine Replacement Therapy is also utilized for cessation services.

Offers a smoking cessation program available for patients who show the desire to want to quit smoking.

Tobacco cessation program supplements the care that patients receive from their primary care providers. During primary care appointments, provider will assess readiness to quit smoking. When you are ready, a certified cessation specialists will strategize with help come up with an action plan to quit.
