The site is located on property owned by the Federal Bureau of Prisons approximately 9.5 miles south of Williamsport on Route 15 and is adjacent to the Allenwood Federal Prison Complex. A total of 179.9 acres have been permitted to Lycoming County. This Regional site serves Lycoming County as well as Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Columbia and Union Counties. The service area is approximately 3,000 square miles.
Operates a waste-to-energy facility for residents to dispose of combustible household waste and leaf/yard waste.

Performs the following services and maintains these facilities: - Recycling: LCSWMA assists municipalities, businesses and other institutions with starting and maintaining their recycling programs. LCSWMA’s three Lancaster facilities have 24/7 recycling drop-off areas for the following materials: glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles, and newspapers (including office paper and magazines). The Transfer Station Complex also accepts cardboard. - Transfer Station Complex: Located on Harrisburg Pike in Lancaster. A central location for the transfer of trash for end disposal (waste-to-energy facility or landfill). Accessible to commercial haulers and residents. Also has a recycling drop-off center and Household Hazardous Waste Facility for items such as paint, computers, televisions, batteries, etc. - Household Hazardous Waste Facility: Located at the Transfer Station Complex on Harrisburg Pike in Lancaster, LCSWMA accepts household hazardous waste materials from residents in
