Pennsylvania Department of Health - State Health Center at York County

Nurse practitioner and Community Health Nurses provide services on STD clinic day. The STD Clinic is available on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 12:30pm, and the TB Clinic operates on the 1st Thursday of every month from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Immunizations are free by appointment only on Wednesdays, from 8:30am to 10:45am and 1:30pm to 2:30pm, and are available to individuals with no insurance or underinsurance. Additional services include family and professional education, general health information and referrals, case management and counseling for children with elevated blood lead levels, health promotion and teaching for groups, PKU, perinatal and hepatitis B case management, investigation of communicable diseases, and follow-up for animal bites and rabies.

Immunizations for measles, rubella, and mumps can be given between ages 12-15 months, others usually 2 months. The following immunizations are offered: DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis) IPV (Inactivated Polio Vaccine) Prevnar (Pneumocial vaccine for infants) MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) Hepatitis B-Hepatitis A Gardasil (Vaccine used to prevent cervical cancer and precancerous cervical lesions) HIB (hemophilus influenza) DT Booster or TD (for older children) Varicella (chickenpox) TDYS - Tuberculosis Clinics provide confidential diagnosis, treatment (including medication), and follow-up. (Will do a free testing for persons who have been exposed to the germ). TB clinic by appointment - HIV/AIDS antibody testing and pre- and post-test counseling. Free, confidential, and anonymous.

Prevention Education and Awareness Programming: Offers evidence based and/or research supported strategies to prevent victimization by focusing on conditions that reduce violence. Primary prevention refers to behavior change. These strategies move beyond knowledge and awareness to include opportunities for audiences to learn, practice, and adopt skills and behavior changes that create environments and cultures free from violence. Education/Community Awareness: Provides one time educational and community awareness programs designed to raise an understanding of violence and victimization in the community. Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley - Crime Victims Support Services

Provides support and services to victims of all violence including sexual assault, their families and significant others. Offers support groups for rape survivors, children, pre-adolescents, teens, parents of sexually abused children, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, male survivor's and homicide survivors. Other services include trained counselors who can accompany victims of violence to the emergency room, police departments or to court. Individual and support group counseling are available. Also provides education and resources on crime victimization and prevention for interested individuals and groups.
