Provides community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of counseling services. Individual and group counseling for Veterans, service members, and their families. Marriage counseling, family counseling for military related issues, bereavement counseling, and military sexual trauma counseling. Also, provides outreach, education and referral to VA or community events. Vet Center counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are experienced and prepared to discuss the experiences had during service.

Provides local support to service and family members. Provides information, resources, and referral services to service members and their families that arise as a result of military service. Joint Family Support Assistance Programs provide or coordinate the delivery of high-quality family readiness services to active duty, Guard, and Reserve members and their families, targeting those who are geographically dispersed from a military installation. Programs include:

First Aid Instruction
Helps military families communicate with their loved ones and facilitates their return home during a verified emergency through the Hero Care Network. Connects families after an illness or death of an immediate family member, or a significant life event such as the birth of a child. If an emergency requires leave for a service member, will verify the emergency to the appropriate military commander. Eligibility for emergency leave will ultimately be determined by each service member’s commander.

Offers a free, 6-session educational program for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions. NAMI Homefront is designed to address the unique needs of family, caregivers and friends of those who have served or are currently serving our country. The program is taught by trained family members of service members/veterans with mental health conditions.
