Prepares high school students and young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including autism, to reach personal potential in independent living, employment, and secondary education. Individuals may attend the program full or part time. The program allows for participation tailored to the students' needs by utilizing technology, simulations, hands-on practice and visual aids to develop pre-vocational, educational and daily living skills. This program offers individual and group community-based career exploration, vocational, recreational and social activities for individuals participating in a community integrated setting that reflects individual goals.

Working Papers: Any student 14-17 years old , prior to high school graduation, must have working papers for employment. Applications are taken at school district administration offices. The student does not have to be present to obtain the papers, parents can fill out the paperwork. To obtain working papers, a copy of the student's birth certificate must be taken to the school administration office. Call local school district for information on location and office hours. Summer Enrichment (Vacation Education): Some schools in the County offer non-credit enrichment courses over the summer break. These courses are designed to broaden the students experiences, keep minds and imaginations active, and offer peer interaction. Subjects that may be offered include: computers, cartooning, music, babysitting, chess, foreign languages, photography, etc. Some schools offer school social worker services.

Structured day program of diverse individualized activities designed to enhance the quality of socialization and daily living skills of intellectually disabled individuals from various living situations. Persons age 18 or older. Open daily from 8am to 3:30pm, the Day Program supports individuals in increasing their independent living skills through a wide choice of physical, musical and social activities. Individuals are offered Community Participation Supports to experience community events through trips, volunteer opportunities, and other activities on a regular basis.

Assists individuals who are blind or visually impaired gain the skills necessary to live and work independently in their communities.

Helps young adults in foster care (or young adults who have had experience in foster care for at least 30 days after their 14th birthday) transition to adulthood. Youth may be able to receive services to live independently and develop life skills while planning for the future. If a youth has aged out of the services after being in an out-of-home-care placement with the Office of Children, Youth and Families, they may reconnect with supports through the Transition Age Youth network. Services are provided by Education Liaisons and Transition Planning Caseworkers.

Provides a supportive living program design to prevent psychiatric and medical re-hospitalization while giving individuals independent housing in a supportive environment. Helps individuals obtain independence in living within the community, as well as aid in learning skills such as daily living skills, money management skills, and self-care. Assists residents in working collaboratively with their medical professionals to understand their concerns and manage their medications. Offers access to 24/7 staff support to residents.

Provides support to participants to gain, maintain, and improve skills that allow them to live and participate in their local community. These skills include self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills as defined by an Individual Support Plan. Activities can range from teaching how to safely utilize public transportation, developing community interests, to volunteering in community programs.

Provides a hands-on program which focuses on social skills, independent living, and vocational skills with students during a school day to prepare them for successful independent living.

Assists youth who are or have been in foster care to learn the necessary skills for independent living.

Offers instruction and experiences that improve daily living skills and foster independence. Instruction is provided one-on-one or in peer group settings, depending on the client's needs.

• Vocational rehabilitation including counseling, guidance, pre-vocational training, job placement, and specialized blindness skills training
• Orientation and mobility instruction (white cane usage)
• Rehabilitation Teaching
• Business Enterprise program that trains persons who are blind to work in food service
• Transportation can be purchased by the agency for consumers when needed in conjunction with another service
• Public education programs

Offers instruction to assist individuals to achieve their independent living goals. Examples of areas of instruction are money management, basic computer skills, cooking, how to use public transit, resume building, etc.
