Serves free healthy meals every evening to any child 18 and under.

A kid-friendly supplemental nutrition program administered by the Second Harvest member agencies that have after-school programs. Staff members at each of the locations identify children who are currently enrolled in their programs and are in need of food assistance. Once identified, these children receive a weekly backpack of kid-friendly food to supplement their meals from Friday night until they return to school on Monday morning. Each backpack contains cereal, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruit, soup, macaroni and cheese, canned one-dish meals, and healthy snacks.

Sponsors USDA meal programs for children in schools, child care centers, afterschool programs, shelters, institutions and at sites during the summer. Also supports a network of food cupboards and outreach programs with food and resources.

Provides referrals to food pantries or meal programs to those in need of food assistance.

Provides a weekend backpack food program. NOTE: Children receive a backpack on Fridays filled with 7 meals that can be easily prepared.

Provides after school programming offering tutoring, mentoring, cultural activities, STEM skill-building, safety education and nutritional support.

Provides essentials such as food, clothing, and bathrooms, as well as services such as educational support, counseling, family reunification, and/or preparation for independent living.

Offers drop-in after school programming for youth. Programming includes STEM and Fine Arts activities and instruction, cooking classes, and life skills workshops regularly. Homework help is available daily. After school snack and dinner are provided.

Evening Treatment Center that provides evidence based programs: Aggression Replacement Training, Thinking for a Change, Strengthening Families, and Alternatives. Youth participate in the following psycho-educational groups: Employment Skills Development, Life Skills Development, Coping Strategies, Relationship Skills, and Therapeutic Group Discussion. Goals and groups will be determined based on recommendations from the Juvenile Probation Officer or Children and Youth Caseworker, consultation with the parents/guardians, and results of various assessments. Length of the program will be determined by the participant’s treatment needs. Participants are transported to the program after school and then transported home at 8:30pm as long as they live within a 12 mile radius of the facility. Participants will receive an evening meal and snack. They will be given time to complete their homework, as well as recreation time. Provides access to nutritious food through programs such as School Pantry, Kids Cafe, Backpack, and Summer Meals. Coordinates programs in conjunction with local school districts and municipalities.

Provides weekend meals for children/youth in need. Each participant receives six meals each weekend.

Provides a supplemental food bag containing two breakfast meals, two entrees, and two snacks for the weekend. Also gives a jar of peanut butter once a month.

Afterschool program for children K – 12 at school centers throughout Carbon and Schuylkill Counties. Students are referred primarily for academic purposes. Educational programs, including homework assistance and STEAM-focused projects, are taught and a hot meal is served. Also offers summer programs.

Offers meals over the weekend to food-insecure students.
