Members share the day-to-day experiences of running a home, including responsibility for household chores and meal planning, and are encouraged and supported in employment searches and problem-solving.

Provides transitional housing and supportive services for women leaving prison who have a desire to learn how to live their life according to Christian principals and be reunited with their children. The program teaches positive parenting, life skills and financial responsibility through schooling and employment, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve responsibilities. Christian faith is at the core of Beth Shalom's guiding principles and objectives. Residents pay nominal program fees and stay up to one year.

Provides communal housing to assist homeless individuals with mental illnesses who are active members of society and want to live independently. Those who benefit most are persons who may not be able to afford things like rent, food, transportation and utilities on their own, but could do so with the help of other house mates. Lodge members share in the day-to-day experiences of running a home, and do so more affordably than if they lived on their own. Lodge members create their own house rules and manage their own activities. Lodges are member-managed. Staff assist only as needed and are available in emergency situations.

Some of these goals include greater self-determination, establishing a source of income, and obtaining permanent housing. The advocates provide supportive listening and identify problems or issues and offer possible solutions. Also provides accurate information, referral and follow-up as necessary.

Provides emergency safe housing for those women, children and men who must flee their homes to be safe. Longer term transitional housing is available to assist survivors to secure a life free from violence and oppression. From emergency housing, they are moved into transitional housing and given financial aid for a security deposit, rent, utilities, furnishings and food. Advocates continue to work closely with them to find employment and eventually a permanent, affordable home of their own.
